Catherine Ball is a partner at HCR, where she advises individuals, families and trustees on their legal matters. She joined the firm’s Northampton office in 2001 (then Hewitsons Becke + Shaw) and is a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser. Her practice covers wills, probates, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, estate planning and capital taxes for farming and landed estates. She works with a diverse range of clients, from individual families to landowners and business proprietors, and regularly acts as an Executor and Trustee. Catherine also serves as a trustee of two local charities. Catherine was appointed Under Sheriff of Northamptonshire in 2026, a role held by partners of the same firm for about a century. She acts as Clerk and adviser to the High Sheriff of Northamptonshire's Nominations Advisory Panel. Outside of work, Catherine is an enthusiastic supporter of rugby and follows the Welsh and Northampton Saints teams. She lives with her husband, two children and pets in South Northamptonshire.
