Martial arts expert Junior Anderson has been teach

Martial arts expert Junior Anderson has been teaching his sport for 30 years, in his spare time when not working as a police officer. Teaching local kids self defence builds confidence and can save them from harm. Gary Marsh and Thomas Greenfield have been taught by Junior and now volunteer themselves. Thursday brought a meeting with Chris Serbyn Health and Well-being manager for Trilogy Active. The name (mind/body/soul )hides so much more. This Social Enterprise Charitable Trust has a vibrant street sports project as well as providing swim, gym, badminton facilities for Northampton. It has a Falls Prevention project too. Fantastic to find so much going on here as I enter my last week as High Sheriff.#trilogy active

Great cup of coffee( and a sneaky millionaires shortbread ) at Revive in Desborough this week. Run by the luminescent Vicki Cosby and staffed by 20/30 volunteers from 14 to 84 it provides a place to meet and have a spiritual top up if needed. How lovely to find a place where the team are encouraged to sit and chat with customers! It oozed warmth and friendliness. I’ll be back. Thank you Daphne, Kim, Pete and Valerie #revive Desborough

On the streets of Kettering last night/ this morning til 3am with the Street Pastors. They showed kindness and consideration to all. Rough Sleepers and Rowdy partygoers alike. The young people showed their appreciation which was heartwarming to see. Fantastic dedication by Rob Webb, Helen, Linda,Ros,Brian,Peter and Joy. A team of 55 in all. As one young person put it “ what great community spirit”. Thank you #ketteringstreetpastors

My visit to the Doddridge Community Centre was a great lesson in how to make the most from our old buildings, especially when combined with an inspiring and energetic management team.

I met Director, Rachel Bott, Trustee, Graham Croucher and their team including, Aimme, Stefan and Tasha.

What a fantastic service they provide to their community.
