The High Sheriff's Cadet

Paige Gibson & Aiden Bennett

The High Sheriff’s Cadet in Northamptonshire is drawn from the Northamptonshire Emergency Services Cadets. The Cadet assists the High Sheriff during the year in office, may act as a Sword Bearer to the High Sheriff at ceremonial events and will also accompany the High Sheriff to other engagements in the County.

Public services are essential constituents of a modern society and roles in this sector call for you to enjoy a challenge, be level-headed and have good communication skills, too. As members of NESC, Aiden & Paige gain an insight into all three emergency services: Police, Fire and Ambulance Service.

Paige Gibson

As a year 3, Grade 2 NESC, Paige has specialised in policing. She hopes to qualify as a police officer after her A-levels, particularly specialising in dog handling. Being a part of NESC has helped Paige develop many skills, develop her confidence, and impart her leadership skills and knowledge to others. It also means she has been able to work closely with the Northamptonshire police at events and community days.

She works part time at the Northampton Town Football Club and in her spare time she enjoys kickboxing. She is currently the British and World Champion in full contact kickboxing.

Aiden Bennett

Participating in the cadet scheme has provided Aiden with valuable opportunities to meet new people, assist the community, participate in events and parades organised by the cadet programme, and mentor new cadets. He is also considering pursuing the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship as a potential career path.

Over the next two years, Aiden will be attending Wootton Park School to complete his GCSEs in English, Mathematics, Science, Business, and Psychology.

Outside his commitments to the cadets, Aiden dedicates much of his free time to dance. He enthusiastically participates in dance competitions with his dance school, Dexterity Dance.
